Prison is an issue for all of us. While views on crime and punishment differ, almost everyone would agree that we care about crime because of the harm caused by it. There is sufficient evidence that rehabilitation (in prison and on release) reduces crime and can be cost effective. Providing purposeful activity to prepare prisoners to successfully reintegrate into the community, improving their skills and well-being, are key to reducing recidivism.
